Toddlers Plant Flowers

Buy different child size gardening tools and let toddlers fill flower pots with dirt and plant seeds. Let them water the plants and then put in a sunny window. Check on the growth each day and let toddlers water when they need to.

Toddler Terrariums

Fill a clear plastic cup half full of dirt. Plant small plants in the dirt, cover the dirt with rocks, and sprinkle on a little water. Place another clear plastic cup over the planted cup and tape together. Since terrarums are self watering, your toddler can watch each day as the water clings to the terrarium.

Indoor Rainbow

Place a small mirror in a clear glass of water. Put the glass on a sunny windowsill. Position the mirror in the glass so the sun will hit it and cause a rainbow to shine on a wall.

Toddler Garden

Toddlers will love learning about gardening with their own little garden. Show them how to plant seeds in garden rows. Cut the bottoms of egg cartons in half lengthwise to create rows. Let toddlers fill the egg cups with soil and plant a fast growing seed like a sunflower seed in the dirt.
